According to the latest International Energy Agency (IEA) Electricity 2026 report, global electricity demand is expected to grow strongly through to 2030, expanding at around 3.5% per year on average. This robust growth is driven by electrification across industry and transport, rising use of air conditioning, and expanding digital infrastructure like data centres and AI.
