Job Description

Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit a Strategic Account Manager to join our family-owned company.  Our ideal candidate will have had experience in a similar role within the energy industry previously. However, more importantly you will have the desire to learn and ability to motivate yourself and others.

The role is predominantly home-based with flexibility of working hours outside of the required core hours of Monday to Friday 09.30 to 15:00.  A part-time basis/ job share may also be considered.

Position Summary

We are looking for a Strategic Account Manager to maintain and create long-term, trusting relationships with our clients. The role is to oversee an existing portfolio of high-profile clients, ensure their 100% satisfaction rate and to seek new business. You will achieve this by being an integral part of our clients’ decision-making process and understanding their environmental and procurement objectives.

The Role

  • Responsible for delivering exceptional client service, you will be at the heart of our clients energy and sustainability decision-making process.
  • Being the main point of contact for an assigned client portfolio, you will acquire a thorough understanding of our clients’ requirements.
  • You will answer client queries and identify new opportunities for your clients to reduce utility rates and utility consumption using our specialist product suite.  You will be expected to work with internal stakeholders to discuss growth opportunities and together create, present and deliver bespoke solutions.
  • You will be updating and managing the CRM to ensure renewals are visible and both cross-selling and new business sales opportunities are maximised.
  • You will forecast and track key account metrics (e.g. quarterly sales results and annual forecasts).
  • You will be presenting flexible trading reports & utility budgets, providing energy market updates and consulting on changes in the industry that may impact clients.
  • You will prepare and present recommendations to clients based on thorough understanding of clients needs.
  • Clearly communicating the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders, you will deliver monthly and quarterly client accounts reviews.

Requirements and skills

  • Proven work experience as an Account Manager, Key Account Manager, Sales Account Manager, Junior Account Manager or a similar
  • Demonstrable ability to communicate, present and influence key stakeholders at all levels of an organization, including executive and C-level.
  • Solid experience with CRM software (e.g. Salesforce, Zoho CRM and/or HubSpot) and MS Office (particularly MS Excel and Powerpoint).
  • Experience delivering client-focused solutions to client needs.
  • Proven ability to look after multiple projects, while maintaining sharp attention to detail.
  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work from home.
  • Full UK driving licence/ from time-to-time UK travel will be required.
