Great Britain is on track to set a new record for solar power generation this summer. According to forecasts from energy market data firm ICIS, solar power output from June to August is expected to exceed the previous high set in 2022, despite less-than-ideal weather conditions.
The projections suggest that solar power production will increase by about 16% compared to last summer’s record. By the end of August, solar generation is anticipated to reach 5.86 terawatt hours.
Notably, June already saw monthly output surpass 2 terawatt hours for the first time, underscoring the country’s growing reliance on renewable energy.
