The UK Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) has announced plans to launch Allocation Round 7 (AR7) of the Contracts for Difference (CfD) scheme on 7 August 2025, with the application window open until 27 August.
📅 Key Dates & Provisional Delivery Years:
- Offshore wind (fixed & floating): 2028–29, 2029–30
- Onshore & remote island wind: 2027–28, 2028–29
- Solar PV: 2027–28, 2028–29
Final delivery years will be confirmed ahead of the round’s launch.
This round plays a crucial role in the UK’s pursuit of its Clean Power 2030 targets. If the timeline holds, results are expected by late 2025, mirroring the AR6 timeline.
